## Offset by engine time or fuel burn

Send us your Hobbs hours or fuel uplift and we'll estimate your fleet's CO₂ and price a plan around it.

Offset the whole fleet

Priced from your aircraft and annual hours

Fleet estimates on request

Share fuel records or Hobbs totals and we'll do the maths

A certificate for every order

Open each order's certificate from your account

## Offset portfolio built for education and accountability

Show students how offsetting works, with credits that are independently rated and tracked on public registries.

Our supplier uses ratings from Sylvera, BeZero, Calyx Global and Renoster

Data you can use in training

Bring real project and registry data into your lessons

Registry traceability

Every credit is listed on major registries—no guesswork

## What a license costs in CO₂

Minimum flight hours, fuel and training CO₂ for each license, by aviation authority.

- [Authority · FAA · Private pilot license, Commercial pilot license, and Sport pilot license. Minimum hours, fuel and CO₂ for each.](https://trimcarbon.com/learn-to-fly/faa)
- [Authority · Transport Canada · Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, Recreational Pilot Permit, Night rating, and Float rating. Minimum hours, fuel and CO₂ for each.](https://trimcarbon.com/learn-to-fly/transport-canada)
- [Authority · EASA · Private Pilot Licence, Commercial Pilot Licence, Light Aircraft Pilot Licence, and Night rating. Minimum hours, fuel and CO₂ for each.](https://trimcarbon.com/learn-to-fly/easa)

### What is TrimCarbon?

TrimCarbon offsets the CO₂ from general aviation flying. Pick your aircraft and the hours you fly, and we buy and retire independently rated carbon credits for the same amount of CO₂.

### How is my CO₂ figure calculated?

We multiply your aircraft's typical cruise fuel burn by the CO₂ of its fuel: 8.31 kg per US gallon of avgas, or 9.75 kg for Jet A. A Cessna 172 burning about 10.6 gallons an hour emits about 88 kg. That covers combustion only. If your logs give you an average burn, multiply it by the same factor for a closer number.

### Can I use my logbook instead of estimating my hours?

Yes. Import a ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot or LogTen export. Your browser reads the file, so it never leaves your device. You get the CO₂ of every logged flight and a yearly plan sized on your last 12 months.

### How do I know the carbon credits are legitimate?

Our supplier says fewer than 3% of projects on the market are eligible for its portfolios. Each project must be highly rated by at least one of Sylvera, BeZero, Calyx Global or Renoster, and its credits are issued and retired on public registries such as Verra and Gold Standard.

### What's the difference between the subscription and a one-time purchase?

You pick your aircraft and yearly hours and pay a rate per kg of CO₂: $0.036 on the monthly plan, or from $0.035 on the yearly plan, which gets lower as the amount grows. The plan renews until you cancel, which you can do anytime. A one-time purchase is $40 for one tonne, with no subscription.

### What if I fly more than I planned?

Add a one-time purchase whenever you need it, or contact us about a custom plan for a school, club or fleet.

### What types of projects are included?

A mix chosen by our supplier across project types and regions: mostly projects that reduce or avoid emissions, plus a share that remove CO₂ from the air. Avoided emissions aren't taken out of the atmosphere, and nature-based removals can be reversed, so an offset doesn't cancel out a flight.

### Is this greenwashing?

Offsetting isn't a silver bullet, and cutting fuel burn comes first. For the emissions you can't avoid, we use only independently rated credits, each traceable on a public registry, so you can check them rather than take them on trust.

### Do I get proof of my offsets?

Yes. Each order gets its own certificate page and PDF, with the kg of CO₂ retired, the projects behind it and their serial numbers on public registries.

### How secure is my payment?

Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see or store your card details.
